Techno.org
Yesterday I made a long post about how I got interested in domaining and what domaining is. Well, one of the domains I was able to get a few days ago is Techno.org, and if you know that I am in the business of electronic and dance music, you know what a big deal that is. Big thank you goes out to Daniel who finally sold it to us, I guess part of it was the fact that he already knew our DI.fm brand for a number of years and trusted us to develop Techno.org into something worthy.
If you are not up to speed with electronic music here’s a basic fact in a nutshell: most people call all kinds of electronic and dance genres by the ignorant term “techno”. So much so that techno is now a huge keyword online. Anyone wanting to hear some good beats just goes in and types “techno” into Google unless they already know better – the masses don’t. So with Techno.org I plan to develop a resource for electronic music, and show exactly that it’s not all just techno. Just like this Ishkur’s Guide to Electronic Music shows there’s far more to it.
Our Digitally Imported Radio – and I say ours because well, while this is my blog, that company is a team effort and lots of people put in a huge effort into it – is already the most known brand for this type of music. Now we’ll develop the most known brand for information as well. The market will be virtually cornered, good luck to our competition in the long run, it will be Much much harder to compete. And that’s another reason to buy domain names folks – prevent competition from doing it first so they don’t develop an edge against you. I am still in euphoria here over what this will do in a year or two as we build this asset up. What’s also great is that we’ll actually provide useful information for people, something that will actually make a difference – and that’s the best kind of a reward to go along with an increasingly valuable asset.

Pretty snazzy!
