This is great, we’re actually getting nasty emails and other messages from other Internet radio people who can’t handle the competition. Here’s a bit of background info and what I saw today.
A couple of weeks ago we’ve launched a number of new channels on the Digitally Imported radio network. One of the new channels is A Beatles Tribute, which is supposed to be everything about the Beatles including rare recordings, covers, and even little interviews. The honorable Gary Farr who recently joined to also develop our Solo Piano station asked if we’d be up for a Beatles tribute channel, and eventually we all said sure thing. So that’s how the channel was launched, it doesn’t take a nuclear scientist to figure a lot of people might be into Beatles.
So today I was quite amused when a person registered on our forums with a nickname of ‘BeatlesRadioDOTcom’ and this happened:
> under the title of sky sucks.
>
> ***************
> Beatles Radio.com is the real deal you guys can’t do anything on your
> own , no new ideas of your own got rip off others ideas…
>
> sucks like your owner
> ***************
I don’t even know this guy or his company, and yet the mud is flying. Isn’t this great! I really am amused and quite happy, I love this. Few weeks barely pass and we’re sent a compliment that shows we’re a force to be reckoned with in the Online Radio world. As soon as we launch channels, competition that’s been around presumably for a long time with a great domain is scared enough to come and post on our site.
John there (I get this name from the email address he registered with) is probably going through something similar to the Kübler-Ross Grief Cycle, the third stage is one of outraged anger. In order the stages are: Shock, Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Testing, Acceptance. I figure he’s at the angry part now, so by the time he’s onto Bargaining I’ll be hearing back from him regarding a collaborative effort. And when I say no (which I will, John), you can go on to the Depression part. Or just try to be normal and move on to Acceptance and grieve our channel launch properly.

Hey there Ari!
Been listening to your web “radio” for ages… Was always wondering if good things would last on the Internet. Well just wanted to say something to the Village Idiots out there who are just living in a sense of denial. GET OVER IT! Come on just because some one else puts a good idea into practice you don’t have to go all sour grapes over it! Sheesh get a life!
Great to see your work expanding! From like 2000 when I first was introduced to your site from my exgirlfriend. Keep it man!!
Cheers!
