Seth Godin has a great way of concisely saying the kind of things that ought to be self-evident truths if the rest of the world was any smarter. If you are at all into marketing you should definitely check out Seth’s blog.

I am a great fan of Seth’s and here’s a piece from his blog today:

The more people you reach the more likely it is that you’re reaching the wrong people.

This really brings the point home for me as my Internet radio venture continues to break records in the number of listeners we serve, yet it doesn’t necessarily translate to more revenue. I’ve got to get busier trying to reach the right subset better, rather than grab as much of the pie as possible.

I also think Seth’s point speaks true as it relates to religious missionary work. I am not about to open that can of worms here by elaborating though, you can figure it out.
