I didn’t have a topic staring at me today, and didn’t exactly have time to write up a reserved topic for later.
But I know that the reason blogging works for many online is that people are often interested in personal details. It’s not fun to read press releases, facts and people hiding behind corporate write-ups. No, it’s much more interesting to read that everyone is human, everyone has ups and downs, success and failures.
So I’ll use this as an excuse to throw out some odd personal things about myself. Not that I am or should be important (got my humble cap on here), but in case it may just be interesting. In no particular order…
- I love Buffalo style chicken wings, but New York City has some of the worst. This is actually bad because now I keep trying to give each new place a chance, only to be disappointed time and time again.
- I have two young sons, and I know my wife for longer than half my life now – math gets weird.
- Speaking of math, I failed Discrete Math in Binghamton U because I was too busy playing Starcraft day and night. I couldn’t just pick it up naturally in class without studying, as I tried to do so often with most other subjects. That’s why they call it “discrete” I suppose. Couple of years later in Pace U I got an A in Discrete Math - either I got better, or the new college really got worse?
- I am from Georgia the country, not the place you’d expect to hear a southern accent. Hence, I really do love Mediterranean food.
- I can’t stand Ukrainian food, or what hearing Ukranian language does to my ears for that matter. Oddly enough, my wife was born and raised in Ukraine before also immigrating here
Life plays a joke on you sometimes. - I walked out of The Lord of the Rings movie showing – the eye candy to story ration made really upset. I care more about the story, not the fake graphics.
- I get off on competing and building, usually online these days I suppose. Not that big on on maintenance as the motivator.
- I drank a capuccino after taking allergy medicine with decongestant today. Boy did I feel drugged most of the day

You are being honest! When i saw the heading i thought about the Discrete Math thing immediately and wondered if you would put it there, haha, and there it is.
I will admit that Discrete Math at BU did suck (it was one of many things that sucked at BU, but we will just leave it at that).
I have heard the story about Discrete Math so many times that I thought this is a myth … But it is very true!
and I am glad that you are just a regular mankind with your weaknesses and strengths
haha! life does play a joke on you once in a while.
I was just researching more about di.fm and you before submitting my resume and came across your blog. I remember back in 2002 I was bothering all my friends to support your company by faxing/emailing letters to local government officials. So now I’ve decided to check if di.fm would be a good place for me to work. Probably not the best match, considering what Ukrainian language does to your ears and my nationalistic views (born in Ukraine)
keep up the good work on di.fm.
ohh, and check out cafe Veselka on 2ave/9th st
Nazar, send it in. I consider the resume, not so much the language so long as I don’t have to speak it
Yeah I’ve been to Veselka once few years back, not my thing (as I said) hehe
