I am half way through this week’s beaurocratic nonsense from all the companies I am involved in, unless something else is added on.

So, this calls for a quick post to link to what was interesting to me recently.

  • The Russo-Georgian conflict has been in the news much over the past 10 days. Did you know I was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia myself before moving to New York when I was 12? This one hits close to home.

What has been extremely surprising is how slanted and pro-Georgian (read: anti-Russian) most of the media has been in the US.

From CNN to Fox News, everyone talks about this as if Georgia has been a victim here. Well, they were, but only after they went into South Ossetia where I am sure things weren’t pretty.

Take a look at this clip where Sheperd Smith of Fox News cuts off this interview when it goes in the “wrong direction.”Just shocking how political this became on its own. And I am talking about all main news outlets here, even the ones which are usually not accused by delusional people with foam at their mouths of being run by George Wya .

  • Dead Zone of Slick by Seth Godin
Seth Godin does it again with a brilliant post. What is it with this guy who’s able to put the things we feel intuitively so nicely into truisms.  Where is your business going or where does it want to be? Check it out - the dead zone of slick.
  • Danny at SEOmoz just posted some numbers on Examining The Internet’s Top Blogs: What we can learn from their Success. If blogging interests you, Danny’s charts are a good way to quickly absorb the info. Nice link bait there Danny! (I don’t know him personally).
  • Yoda the Cat with 4 Ears

Meet Yoda, the cat with four ears. Yes, supposedly this cat’s for real.
